Here at Yogave’ we were more than ready to spring ahead with Daylight Savings Time, and we are even more excited to celebrate Spring! As the snow melts and the days lengthen, now more than ever a strong personal practice will encourage us to heat from within, find and share our inner peace, and to spread light and love. Spring Equinox

The first day of Spring is Wednesday, March 20, and we’ll be celebrating in a big way! Join us at 6pm for Amy’s Blindfold Yoga (back by popular demand!) to ground yourself in the heart of your practice and step out of the darkness of winter. This class is for all levels, by donation, and sure to open your eyes to all the warmth and brightness of Spring. Other special events to be announced soon!


Yogave’ 12

Our recovery community is an important part of the mission of Yogave’. Our instructors have hundreds of hours of training and dedicate their hearts and time to this incredible effort. Yoga 101

If you missed the first round, don’t fret! Yoga 101 will start on March 18 for another six week session. This is a great opportunity to build your practice on a strong foundation - whether it’s your first time on the mat or your fiftieth, you’ll appreciate a fun and stress-free environment for learning alignment of poses, how to coordinate breath and body, and lots of basic yoga fundamentals to help you feel more confident in your own practice.  This workshop runs on Monday nights from 7:30-8:45pm; learn the basics with Amy Page. $60 for the session - contact us for more information!


Youth Yoga

Join Lauren Norster on Tuesdays from 4-5pm for Youth Yoga at Yogave’! Drop-in:  $10, session rates also available. We focus on meditation, poses, and finding balance between ease and effort.  Lauren was recently interviewed at Dispatch magazine! Youth Yoga

The aim of this series is to give students a comfortable space to explore yoga, learn focus and relaxation techniques, and discover awareness for the physical capabilities of their bodies.

Yogave 12

Yoga 101

A brand-new offering, this is a six-week workshop that will introduce yoga basics. Work with Amy Page to learn asana (poses), pranayama (breath), how to use props, modify the postures for your own body, and the structure of a typical class in a laidback environment. This is an excellent option for those brand new to yoga, those looking to reunite themselves with yoga after time away from the mat, or any yogi interested in grounding down into their practice by going back to the beginning. Find your own yoga, Mondays beginning January 21, from 7:30-8:45pm. Pre-registration is open now - $60 for the six week workshop.


Youth Yoga

Yoga for Kids at Yogave Generosity Yoga will start up again on Tuesday, January 15th from 4-5! Taught by Lauren Norster, the session runs until February 12th, when we take a week off for February school vacation. $50 for the whole session or $10 drop-in.

Youth Yoga with Lauren! ages 10-14 in a  4 week session

Thursdays Sept 6th through thru Sept 27th    4-5 PM

Young yogis (ages 10-14) build confidence, strength, and flexibility with this Ashtanga-inspired yoga series designed just for this age group. Letting all the worries that come up during this age dissolve and focusing instead on movement during the class can assist students in keeping things in perspective. The aim of this series is to give students a comfortable space to explore yoga and discover an awareness for the physical capabilities of their bodies.


During this one hour weekly drop-off class, students will also learn meditation techniques and have time to unwind after school.

 

This four week series is $40, and runs the four Tuesdays in September from 4-5.


Lauren Norster has been teaching in unconventional educational settings for 12 years, practicing yoga for 10 years, and teaching yoga for 3. She received her 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher Certification from Breathing Room, and is a Reiki Master. She is excited to share her passion for yoga with local students!


 

 

 

Sunday August 5th- we are honored to host Kundalini Yoga for Love and Prosperity Workshop taught by EkOngKar Singh Khalsa, noon - 4:30 pm, please bring an open heart and one fresh fruit, suggested donation $40. EkOngKar Singh was blessed with the privilege to study with Yogi Bhajan and spent 12 years under his guidance at Guru Ram Ashram in Anchorage, Alaska

 

Prenatel Yoga classes with Elizabeth K begin this Saturday June 23rd 12:00- 1:15 PM and  our Meditation class with Stephanie begins as well, on the 23rd from 4:30 - 5:30PM. Please help us spread the word!

 

 

Solstice Event !

David Yearwood will be instructing Level II Iyengar, Monday evenings 7:30- 9:00 beginning June 4th. This class will require asana experience and an open mind to challenging poses, safely and effectively learned through the careful and intelligent attention characteristic of Iyengar’s yoga’s teaching methodology. We welcome David back to Yogave’ !
