Postnatal Yoga Class

Moms and/or Dads with their pre-crawling and pre-walking babies welcome!**

Beginning July 21, 2011

1:15pm to 2:30pm, Thursdays

This will be a drop-in class, the class fee is 10.00 per class

• Bring a blanket for baby and your own yoga mat if you have one, however, Yogave does have some.

• To be as flexible as possible, session sign-up will not be necessary (unless we’re not getting a big enough turnout each time, but we’ll play that by ear)

**Please note: Please be sure you are cleared for yoga by your doc (i.e. probably best not to come prior to 6 weeks from delivery).

More about the class from teacher Kathleen Flanagan:

In beginning a yoga practice with your child it is most important to honor whatever happens!

In Yoga for Mommies, Daddies and Babies we will help the developmental process of the young child’s brain through repetition and intuition. We are communicating respect. Babies are an active participant in this yoga practice and by communicating movements via words, sounds, and physical manipulations, Mommies & Daddies are respecting them.

This practice offers a tempo for physical movement and breathing patterns. In yoga we are introducing the state of balance and positivity. As you know, babies are extremely sensitive to the way those around them feel. Together we can create the space for Mommies & Daddies to find peace and prompt Babies to sink into calm spaces as well.
The class will include baby poses, parent poses and combine parent and baby poses. Tummy time for all and mantras to help increase peace.

All levels are welcome. Look forward to seeing you!
