Yin Yoga - All Levels

Yin yoga is a great compliment to the other styles of yoga. Rather than using the Yang tissue of muscle and bones and an attitude of strength and power it emphasizes softness and self- compassion. It is not strenuous. Yin yoga stimulates meridians and organs in a manner similar to acupuncture. It also stimulates connective tissue, joints, ligaments, fascia, and synovial fluids that are not deeply affected by the more energetic yoga styles. Many people have experienced loss of pain and stiffness. All poses are seated or prone and focus on the core area between the navel and the knees. Most poses are held for five minutes with a focus on the breath and the inner landscape.
